Catholic Schools Week at St. John School was a wonderful experience.
The students did a variety of activities, and throughout the week they collected food items for the Sisters’ food pantry in Baltic, Ct. The focus of the week was on the saints and the importance of learning from their example. The eighth graders began the week with a prayer service. Each grade decorated their classroom door with information about a specific saint and certain virtues he/she exemplified. Many classes watched a movie about a saint. Fun activities such as game day, crazy hat/socks day, and color buddy day, where older buddies met with their lower grade class buddies to do an activity. Overall, it was a great week to highlight our wonderful Catholic school and reflect on the importance of following Jesus like the saints did.
